THe 70-547 exam is intended to expand on what you learnt in order to pass the 70-528 and became a MCTS.

But whereas the both the 70-536 (Foundation) and 70-528 (Web) MCTS examinations were all about testing your knowledge of the Framework (and specifically ASP.NET), this exam is suprisingly light in this area.

In many ways, at this point in the game, the 70-547, expects that you know how to code -- it just wants to test your ability to listen to a client, translate that into a list of requirements, design a solution that fulfills them, document the work, design tests, analyse the results, deliver, and support a solution.

Simply put, 70-528 tested you as a programmer -- capable of being assigned work -- and the 70-547 intends to test you as a Developer capable of writing code -- but designing a solution for a stated problem.

Personally...I found the study guide to be ...light... in many respects. It touches on many subjects, but doesn't delve into anything deeply enough. For example, its coverage of how to use UML to outline a plan of action was light at best, and factually wrong at worst, its coverage of PerformanceCounters was unclear as to how to effectively use them, while Stress Testing the website, etc.

I was left a little disappointed, to be frank.

That said, I definately think one should study for and pass this certification, if only to ensure that you have been introduced to the development cycle from start to finish, and its terminology-- but I would then strongly suggest that you intend to continue to try to inform yourself from other sources than this Training kit.
