Operations and Maintenance Phase
The installed system is monitored to ensure it performs as defined in the requirements, and any modifications needed to do so are incorporated.
In addition, the system is be periodically assessed through In-Process Reviews to determine how the system can be improved.

Disposition Phase
When the system is terminated it must be done in an orderly fashion, in order that it can be reactivated in the future if needed.
Particular emphasis is given to either migrating the data to another system, or archiving the data in accordance with applicable records management regulations and policies, for potential future access.
